History of Cornerstone
- March 1995 - The vision to establish an Evangelical Free Church (EFC) in the area began at the annual meeting of the North Central District of the Evangelical Free Church of America. A family from Winnebago attended that conference as members of the East Chain EFC. They felt a new church could be started in the “Highway 169 corridor” between Winnebago and Blue Earth.
- 1996 - Four couples from the Winnebago / Blue Earth area began meeting for Bible study and prayer.
- Fall 1997 - Sunday evening worship began at the Winnebago Municipal Center.
- March 1998 - Sunday morning worship services began and the location was changed to Coleman Hall in Blue Earth.
- October 1998 - Pastor Dennis Painter was called as the first full-time pastor.
- April 23, 1999 - Cornerstone EFC was officially recognized as an affiliate of the North Central District Association of the Evangelical Free Church of America.
- Fall 2000 - Cornerstone EFC began meeting at the Performing Arts Center at the Blue Earth Area High School.
- September 2001 - Dave Drescher became pastor of Cornerstone EFC.
- 2008 - "Church in a Church" concept introduced; Mentoring partnership with Praxedis Soria
- February 2009 - Spanish Bible Studies begin
- March 2010 - Sunday morning services are interpreted to Spanish
- December 2010 - Praxedis & Pastor Dave begin preaching side-by-side
- January 2010 - Cornerstone EFC now meeting at the Blue Earth Area Youth for Christ Center
